The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) Foundation’s annual Yuletide Gala Auction is one of the most anticipated nights of the year — a joyful way to kick off the holiday season and show support for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The evening begins with a festive cocktail reception and a delicious dinner, followed by spirited bidding on a wide range of silent and live auction items — all generously donated by our community. From Island getaways to handcrafted artisan pieces, there’s something for everyone. The celebration wraps up with live entertainment and dancing into the night.

But at its heart, the Gala is all about giving back. Every ticket, bid, and donation will support the purchase of vital medical equipment and help advance clinical priorities in Emergency, ICU and Mental Health and Addictions care, ensuring the best possible care for patients across Prince Edward Island.

The 2025 Yuletide Gala Auction takes place on Saturday, November 22 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Prince Edward in Charlottetown. We’d love to see you there!

What are the details of the event?

The 2025 Yuletide Gala Auction presented by Cavendish Farms will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2025. 

The cocktail reception begins at 6:00 pm.

Dinner begins at 7:00 pm.

The proceeds from this signature event will support the purchase of vital medical equipment and advance clinical priorities in Emergency, ICU and Mental Health and Addictions care.

We’re excited to share that this year’s event will feature live entertainment by More Soul, who will be bringing old-school soul and funk all night long — playing hits from James Brown, Stevie Wonder, and more!

Yes, we consider the QEH Yuletide Gala Auction the event of the year! The dress code is cocktail attire.

Where can I purchase tickets?

You can purchase tickets online by clicking here, or by calling our office at (902) 894-2425.

  1. Tickets – Since there is no prize potential included with the ticket, guests will receive a charitable receipt for a portion of the ticket cost. Charitable receipts are issued following the event, so that auction results can be shared with you at the same time. For 2025, tickets are $250 per person, with a $125 charitable receipt.
  2. Auction Items – For auction items purchased, charitable tax receipts are not eligible. However, under CRA guidelines, auction packages purchased at a minimum of 125% over their stated value may be considered a charitable contribution. In such cases, the purchaser will receive a charitable receipt for the portion deemed to reflect charitable intent. Example: A dining package valued at $1,800 is purchased for $5,000. 125% of $1,800 = $2,250. Since the $5,000 bid exceeds this threshold, the purchaser will receive a charitable receipt for $3,200.
  3. Pure Donation Auction Items – Some auction items are dedicated to supporting medical equipment and clinical priorities (like the Social Work Fund) at the QEH. When you bid on these, your winning contribution is a pure donation — meaning you won’t take home a physical item, but you’ll be making an incredible impact for patients and families. You’ll also receive a charitable tax receipt for your gift.

Friend of the Gala is another way to support the Yuletide Gala Auction charitably. Participants are eligible to receive a charitable tax receipt.

We want you to have an enjoyable evening and would love to seat you with your friends. The sooner you purchase your tickets, the more likely we’ll be able to accommodate your request. Tables seat eight guests.

We strongly encourage you to purchase your tickets early and indicate your intended table companions. We’ll hold seats up to 14 days prior to the event, at which point any unpaid seating will be released.

Can anyone bid on the silent auction items?

All auction items are available for bidding by guests who have purchased tickets and registered for the Gala Auction event.

Bids will be placed using the Auctria app on your smartphone. 

The total amount of your winning bids will be charged to your registered credit card.

There will be both live and silent auction items available. The silent auction will open on Saturday, November 15, and ticket holders will receive an email with instructions on how to access bidding through the Auctria app on their personal device.

Bidding kiosks will also be available on-site during the event. Each item listed in Auctria will include detailed descriptions and photos, and auction items will also be on display at the event.

The live auction will take place during the event, with bids placed by raising paddle numbers.
